Funding of over €250,000 awarded to 24 local Meath groups.

3rd Aug 2016: On Thursday the 28th July, Indaver, in collaboration with Meath County Council, held a night of celebration in the Carranstown Lodge in recognition of the 2016 awarding of funds from the Indaver Community Fund.

Benefiting the Local Community

“Tonight is about acknowledging the successful applicants and recognisign the hard work, dedication and passion demonstrated by all of the community groups. One of Indaver’s core values is to continuously improve which I think is a shared value with the groups here tonight – we all want to develop and improve the local area.” stated Marian Caddell of Indaver

Cathaoirleach Cllr. Maria Murphy, Cllr. Sharon Keogan, Cllr. Stephen McKee, and Cllr. Tom Kelly spoke about the benefits of such a fund to the local community and congratulated the groups for their dedication to local area improvement and development.  

Projects Securing Funding for 2016

24 groups secured funding for 25 different projects. These include €25,000 towards CCTV monitoring by Ashbourne District Garda Station; €40,000 to the Duleek Revival Programme for landscaping and lighting in the village; €60,000 for a new clubhouse and community hall for St. Mary’s GFC. In total, over a quarter of a million euro in funding was distributed on the night. The Indaver Community Fund has resulted in more than €1.2 million being spent on local community projects since 2010. 

Speaking at the event, Mary McCarthy from the Community Section of Meath County Council thanked all of the applicants for their hard work in preparing their applications.
