Facilities that get the most out of your waste
Industrial waste needs to be treated completely and safely throughout the whole process: from collection to recycling, incineration or storage. Which doesn't mean we don't pay attention to the sustainable treatment of your waste. There is a reason why Indaver's mission is to be market leader in the field of sustainable waste management'. We have modern, specialised facilities that will – depending on the type of residual waste stream – either recycle materials, reclaim raw materials, or harness energy from incineration. This is how Indaver tries to close as many materials loops as possible, in a way that is always tailored to your situation.
Our logistics department provides collection services using HGVs and tankers, packing materials and containers, both for hazardous and non-hazardous waste. As always, we seek for a balance. Whenever we can add value, we invest in –specialized- transport capacity. If however, outsourcing is a more (cost) efficient option, we arrange for reliable, qualified transport contractors. They are steered and controlled just as strictly as our own logistics department.
Our specialised labs extensively analyse the waste substances that we manage. They characterize, follow up on production (quality & safety) and environment (emissions). They support in process optimisations and they participate in our innovative projects. As yet another experienced chemistry department in the company, they analyse, interpret and experiment on a lab scale, in order to suggest treatment options and measure the results.
Rotary kilns: important link in the circular economy
Indaver tries to recover as much materials as possible from waste for the purpose recycling and re-use. However, certain waste substances, including critical and sensitive waste from the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, require thermal treatments to prevent these hazardous substances from finding their way into material or food chains. For that purpose we have our rotary kilns that can neutralise dangerous or hazardous components and can filter and safely store the elements that cannot be recovered or destroyed. The Indaver site in Antwerp works with MediPower®, one of the most modern plants in the world for the safe incineration of medical and sensitive pharmaceutical waste with a high degree of energy recovery. The rotary kilns are therefore important links in the circular economy for Indaver, because they help keep the product and material chain clean and safe.
