Municipal services in Ireland

In 2013, the number of local authority waste planning areas was reduced from ten to three, with revised draft plans published in 2014. Final plans will be published in 2015.

The purpose of this change in legislation is to ensure the provision of effective and efficient delivery of waste management services. This means that our Meath waste-to-energy facility provides more authorities with local infrastructure for their Plans.

Indaver provides a sustainable waste management solution via its waste-to-energy facility in Co. Meath. With a capacity of more than 200,000 tonnes, the first municipal solid waste incinerator in Ireland utilises the best available technology to recover energy from waste and assist Ireland in meeting its EU waste targets.

Indaver in Ireland is an efficient, reliable and flexible partner, and through its contracts with the waste collection companies, is providing a sustainable solution for municipal solid waste. Our customers benefit because a recovery certificate is provided by Indaver to demonstrate that their waste is treated with energy recovery.
