Non Hazardous Industrial Waste

Meath Waste-to-Energy Facility

Non hazardous industrial waste is made up of a wide variety of materials that result from the production of goods and products. It is similar in nature and composition to household waste.

Ireland is committed to recycling a large proportion of household and similar commercial and industrial waste, however, a residual fraction remains after waste prevention, reuse and recycling. This residual waste is often disposed of to landfill, although much of it still has an energy value that can be recovered in waste-to-energy plants. Indaver's Meath Waste-to-Energy facility can accept a significant portion of this residual waste and converts it into electricity.
