The position takes responsibility for the labelling at source project on site, the labelling at source project involves liaising with the customer to gather information on the waste produced from each manufacturing process. This information is used to correctly identify, segregate and classify each waste and develop guidance charts for use on site. The position also takes responsibility for assisting in preparing packaged waste, planning loads and completing paperwork according to the relevant transport and environmental regulations

The role is based on the Pfizer site in Ringaskiddy, Co Cork.

Function description

Day to day in the role.

Timely and correct assessment and classification of waste streams to facilitate compliant waste shipments.

Act as Site lead contact for labelling at source process ensuring labelling queries, new waste streams are taken from customer and processed to completion, ensuring label guidance charts and labels are available for the production work centers.

Ensure the housekeeping in the waste area on site is of a high standard while making waste materials ready for transport so they can be safely and correctly loaded for transport.

Ensure all waste are correctly packed and shipped in accordance with ADR/IMDG legislation.

Ensure compliance with safety procedures and instructions with the objective of assuring a safe workplace for everyone.


Bachelor’s Degree – Chemistry related or equivalent.
Good knowledge of Hazardous Waste Operations and ADR/IMDG legislation. Experience in a Technical / Hazardous waste role an advantage.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
